About

My name is Tara and I am the founder of Body and Soul Tribe.

I am a yoga teacher and a personal trainer as well as a fitness, mindfulness, and breathwork coach. I have worked in the fitness and wellness industry for over six years and have been on my own fitness and wellness journey for over 20 years. During this time, I have learned a great deal about fitness and holistic wellness, and how we need to be connected to our body and have peace of mind to feel truly healthy and empowered. I am a firm believer that health and happiness start from the inside out, and using a combination of yoga, strength training, breathwork, and mindfulness, I help my clients feel like the best versions of themselves.

I've always had a passion for helping people. I started my first career as a teacher working in various mainstream schools and special needs schools. I loved how I had the opportunity to shape minds and empower students to develop, no matter what their ability. After moving into a management role and taking on a bigger workload with increased amounts of pressure, I started experiencing extreme anxiety and my health began to decline. Being out of the classroom meant my passion for teaching was no longer keeping me fulfilled, which resulted in a mental health breakdown and a deep realization that I had to make a change.

It was during this difficult period in my life, experiencing severe anxiety for the first time and being unable to work, that I turned to exercise, yoga, breathwork, and inner work to heal myself. Recognising the power of these holistic mind-body approaches and missing my passion for teaching, I realised I was going to dedicate the next chapter in my life to helping other people move through their challenges, heal their bodies and minds, and shine from the inside out.

  • With 40 fast approaching and various aches and pains that I wanted to rectify, I started training with Tara at the beginning of the year with the aim being to get fitter and stronger.   • I absolutely love Tara’s PT sessions. She has great insight and knowledge about what both the body and mind need and I like the way she incorporates some of her yoga stretches into my sessions. I am an older woman and focus primarily on weight training. Tara is not afraid to challenge me and she delivers an increasingly challenging programme over 4 week periods, where you increase weight and endurance. I can really feel the difference in my body and it is so empowering to feel strong and healthy in your 60s. Not only is Tara a great trainer, but she is also a lovely person and delivers her sessions in an animated and friendly way. I highly recommend her!

  • I started attending Tara’s yoga classes after getting medical sign off to return to exercise following surgery. Tara was amazing at offering adjustments to make yoga accessible to me whilst I progressed through my recovery. I have been practicing yoga for almost 10 years, but Tara is truly my favourite instructor: her flows are just spicy enough whilst still leaving me feeling relaxed and more mindful too. Her integration of music in to the practice really helps my mind to switch off and just focus on my body and movement!
